Govt Will Launch 5G Service Soon in Major Cities of The Pakistan: IT Ministry

Islamabad:- Soon the PTI Government Will Launch the 5G Services in the 5 Major cities of Pakistan. Ministry OF Information & Technology has Told the Media that They Will Roll Out 5G Services Across Pakistan in Phases. In First , People of Major Cities Will Be Able To Use The 5G Services.

The Five Cities In Which The Govt Planned to Launch the 5G are All the Capitals of Pakistan and Provinces. Ministry OF IT is Planned to Test the 5G Services mainly in the

• Islamabad,
• Lahore,
• Karachi,
• Quetta, and
• Peshawar

Expected Date For Launching 5G Services in The Pakistan:-

One of the Media Person Has Asked, ” When Govt Will Launch the 5G Services in Pakistan?” . In Response To This Question, Official of IT Ministry Said that they had shared a 5G policy draft with the industry and relevant stakeholders. As Soon As We Received Their Responses, We will Work To Launch 5G Services Soon in the Pakistan.

It is Revealed From the Sources that One or Two Operators has Already Response to Govt Draft Of 5G Services in Pakistan. But Ministry is Waiting For the Response From other Stakeholders. IT Ministry has Extended the Last Date For input on the policy guidelines draft to 28 February 2022.

The IT Ministry Officials Said that , After We Received Responses from All Stakeholders Till Last Date, the draft will be shared with the Federal Government. After that, Pakistani Government Will Issue policy directives for 5G on the directives of the ministry After Discussing with All Authorities. After That, IT Ministry Will Start the Process of hiring of consultants and other processes.

Ministry of Information and Technology Said that government Planned to launch 5G in the last quarter of 2022 or the first quarter of 2023.

Master Pan For Spectrum Monitoring Committee

IT Ministry has Also Formed the spectrum advisory committee to Overview All the Process. Govt Will Announced the incentives for spectrum rollout in the upcoming finance bill. Ministry of Finance has Started Its Consultation Regarding the Incentives Allocated with MoITT, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Frequency Allocation Board (FAB), and other relevant stakeholders. After Discussion with All of them , MOF Will finalize incentives, which will be Presented in the Financial Bill 2022-23.

Appointment of the Consultant For Launching 5G Service:-

According to the Official Of the IT Ministry , PTA will appoint consultants for the auction of 5G in the country as Soon as Federal Government Approved the Policy. The Recommendation of Consultants Made By the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority Wiil Be Sent To Federal Government. The Federal Cabinet Has Right to Approve the Consultant. After the Opinion of Federal Government ,PTA will make arrangements for the commercial launching of 5G.

It Is To Noted that Different Telecom Operators Like Jazz, Zong, Telenor Pakistan, PTCL have Already successfully conducted trials of 5G in Pakistan. Hiring of consultants and other processes will be started, as Soon As Pakistani Federal Government Approve the Policy Directives.
