In an effort to draw talent and investment, the UAE will be welcoming the world in 2024 with new visa requirements known as UAE Green Visa. These significant changes to the visa system simplify entry and residency for tourists, professionals, and investors in the UAE, aligning with its objective of becoming a global hub.

In 2023, The UAE revised its visa requirements. To increase its appeal as a global hub for business and tourism, the UAE has made changes to add new visa categories, broaden existing ones, and lengthen visa durations.

For the UAE regular work visa, an employer’s job offer is necessary. There are also two categories for Green Visas. With the UAE Green Visa, an individual can live in the United Arab Emirates for up to five years without the need for sponsorship from an employer or a UAE national. There are three types of visas for work, which include standard work visas, green visas for work, and domestic worker visas.

What is UAE Green Visa ?

United Arab Emirate has launch a new Visa program to attract Freelancers, Entrepreneur , Businessmen. It allows them to stay and work in UAE for 5 years without the need for a UAE national or employer to sponsor his/her visa.

What is Eligibility criteria for UAE Green Visa ?

Requirements for Freelancers and/or self-employed people

• Any Freelancer/ Self Employed who work For oversea client can apply For UAE Green Visa.
• HE/she must have to provide evidence of annual income from self-employment for the previous two years amounting to not less than AED 360,000, or proof of financial solvency throughout their stay in the UAE.
• The Freelancer must have to get Freelance work permit from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation.
• The Self-employed Person must have a bachelor Degree or Diploma of Specialization.

Requirements for UAE Green Visa for Skilled Employees

• Highly Paid Skilled workers such as Doctors, Engineers, Banker can also apply for UAE Green Visa Program.
• Skilled workers are classified in the first, second, or third occupational level as per the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation. These levels are:
  • Level 1: Legislators, managers, and business executives
  • Level 2: Professionals in scientific, technical and human fields
  • Level 3: Technicians in scientific, technical and humanitarian fields
  • Level 4: Writing professionals
  • Level 5: Service and sales occupations
  • Level 6: Skilled workers in agriculture, fisheries and animal husbandry
  • Level 7: Craftsmen in construction, mining, and other craftsmen
  • Level 8: Operators and assemblers of machinery and equipment
  • Level 9: Simple professions.
• Skilled Worker monthly Pay should not be less than AED 15,000.

Family Sponsorship

Green Residences holders are allowed to issue residence permits for their first-degree relatives.

• No sponsor required: This is the main advantage of the Green Visa. Unlike traditional residence visas, the Green Visa does not require sponsorship from an employer or family member.
• Five-year validity: The Green Visa is valid for five years. It has multiple entries.
• Renewable: The Green Visa can be renewed for an additional five years.

Document Requirements for UAE Visa Application

1. Passport: Valid for at least six months from the planned entry date.
2. Visa Application Form: Completed accurately with necessary details.
3. Passport-sized Photographs: As per UAE visa photo specifications.
4. Travel Itinerary: Details of flights, accommodation, and travel plans.
5. Proof of Financial Means: Bank statements, salary slips, or sponsorship details.
